Does anyone know what the difference is between these 2 options when connected to the ILO of an HP system? Remote Console. Integrated Remote Console. For iLO 1 users the biggest single request to HP has been to improve the graphical remote console performance which we have done but unfortunately not alot of people know about nor have applied these updates. ILO 2 License Activation. Licensing iLO 2 Advanced enables true [emphasis ours] Lights-Out Management by enabling many features... That include the virtual KVM console. Now, given our experience with the Intel Remote Management Module (RMM) and Dell Remote Access Card (DRAC), having the virtual KVM disabled out of the box was not considered as a possibility.

I have the HP iLO Advanced 3 year warranty that is expiring in 7 months. I wanted to know is it worth staying with the advanced pacakge, or can I do the same exact thing with the free version of iLO.

Please advise. Thanks!

You can't do the same thing with free however its a onetime purchase, warranty is just for support.

Don't do anything. You've entered an ILO license key, so your server and ILO will continue operating with the ILO Advanced functionality. The warranty is just paper support.

I have it and its about 9 mb. Its called EPSON_PERFECTION_1240U_VISTA_x64_DRIVER_-_US_ONLY.

To answer your question, though, the main difference between the ILO Advanced and unlicensed ILO is that the Advanced license can use remote console and remote media functions. That feature is limited in the free edition.
