Before you begin:

Verify that the current switch module firmware is earlier than the version included in this Moonshot Component Pack using the show bootvar command. Your component may already have the latest firmware installed.
Verify communication with the TFTP server with an RCMP ping.

Copy the firmware image from the TFTP server to the alternate firmware bank of the switch:
copy tftp://<ip_address>/<path>/<filename> alternate

Configure the switch to boot from the alternate image:
Verify the switch boot information:
The output for this command displays the primary, alternate, current-active, and next-active firmware file versions.
Reset the switch and boot from the new image:
After the switch finishes rebooting, verify that the firmware update was successful:
The output for this command shows that the switch boots the image from the alternate flash file system, but the image loads and runs in the primary flash file system.
Make a backup of the image:
NOTE: This removes the ability to downgrade the firmware to the previously installed version. Confirm that you are satisfied with the firmware before running this command.
